A Tourist In Africa by Evelyn Waugh

A Tourist In Africa by Evelyn Waugh hits the £1 shelf in my shop.

Chapman & Hall, 1960, Hardback in dust wrapper.

Illustrated by way of: Black & White Photographs;

From the cover: "Few people go to East and Central Africa purely for pleasure. The winter before last Mr. Evelyn Waugh made a brief but leisurely tour in Kenya, Tanganyika, and Rhodesia and, eschewing all political problems, found many amusements lacking in the recognized holiday resorts. He has a sharp eye for oddity, both in history and in contemporary manners. His travel diary makes a very pleasant bedside book (which should induce sleep in all but the most stubborn insomniacs)."

Good+ — in Good+ Dust Wrapper. Unlaminated dust wrapper a little edgeworn and faded with fraying at the spine ends and a long, tape-repaired, tear to the leading edge of the lower panel. Gently bruised at the head, tail and corners of the binding. Leans a little. Edges of the text block lightly spotted. Text complete, clean and tight but has a light biro mark to the reverse of the (blank) contents page.

Blue boards with Gilt titling to the Spine.
167 pages. 8" x 5¼".
