Autobiographical in form, the trilogy gives a picture of country life in the last quarter of the 19th century, just as the pattern of rural self-sufficiency country life was crumbling under the impact of the Industrial Revolution.

Very Good. Pages very gently age-tanned at the margins with a little dulling to the boards.
